Witnesses

Have you ever seen something so amazing that you simply had to tell others about it?  You could not contain your excitement and joy?  Maybe it was last night’s “big game” or a great concert you attended.  Maybe it was a delicious meal at a new restaurant in town.  Or, perhaps it was something that one of your children accomplished, or that one of your grandkids did.  No matter what it was, it was so good that you just had to tell everyone and anyone who would listen!

If you have ever done that, you already know what it means to be a witness.  You saw or experienced something great; and you told someone else about it.  That’s exactly what Jesus wants us to do.  That’s what being a witness for Jesus Christ means!  But ironically, we are much more adept at talking about the big game or bragging about the grandchildren than we are in declaring the wonders of God.  Funny how when it comes to the things of God, we so often go mute. 

If you need a little encouragement in your Christian witness, this Sunday’s message is just for you!  Not only will we celebrate Mother’s Day, but we will continue our series “What is a Disciple?” with an inspiring message on how we can all be more effective witnesses and win people for Jesus.  It’s a sensitive and important topic.  No one wants to offend others or be labeled a “Jesus Freak.”  So, how can we as ordinary people be and become disciples who witness winsomely?

Let’s meet at 10:00 AM for another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church!  Worship will be inspiring.  The message will be encouraging.  Everyone will be warmly welcomed.  Mothers will be celebrated.  And, the healing presence of the Holy Spirit will renew your heart.  A Nursery and Children’s Church are provided for children.  Refreshments will be served following worship.  Men will gather for prayer.  And, the Discovery Class will meet at 11:15 AM.  Don’t miss your blessing!
