Tough Love
Tomorrow is Valentines Day! It’s a day to celebrate that special someone in your life and the love you share. It’s a day to celebrate the love we have for family, friends, and all others in our lives too. But let it also be a day to celebrate God’s love toward you. John 15:13 says: “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” Now that’s ‘tough love!’ God loves you so much that he would rather send his son Jesus to die in your place than to spend eternity without you!
Join us Saturday evening for a celebration of God’s love as we come together to enjoy great food, friendship, and fun! Couples, singles, families, and friends are all invited. Menu features pasta, pulled pork, veggies, fruit, salad, and dessert. Following the meal, we’ll meet in the sanctuary for “Match Game,” featuring live contestants, a panel, and lots of laughter! Dessert and door prizes will follow the game. The night begins at 5:00 PM. A $10 per person donation is suggested.
The celebration of God’s love continues on Sunday with worship beginning at 10:00 AM. We’ll sing a few hymns from our heritage along with a couple contemporary songs. The message will focus on the fourth growth goal of Grace Church: Larger in Leadership. I’ll highlight five “building blocks” of leadership and offer four practical things everyone can do to be a leader right where you are. Children’s Church will be offered. Friends will greet you. All are invited. Newcomers expected!
Following worship, we’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall over refreshments as usual. But this Sunday, you are invited to participate in a church-wide brainstorming session around our four growth goals while enjoying some goodies. The session will take no longer than one hour as we structure our time for table talk and sharing. I’ll facilitate the meeting which will be a lot of fun. Easter drama practice will take place following the brainstorming session. All are invited. Join us this Sunday!
