Marks of Discipleship

Jesus began his ministry by calling twelve men to follow him and be his disciples.  But what does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?  Who are the disciples of Jesus today?  Are you one?  Am I one?  Would we qualify?  Do we have ‘the right stuff?’  We have often said at Grace Church that we want to grow deeper in discipleship.  We want to be and make disciples.  So, we better know what we are aiming for!  What are the characteristics of being a faithful disciple and follower of Jesus Christ?

Please join your friends and family at Grace Church this coming Sunday, February 22, as we seek to begin to answer these questions!  My new sermon series created especially for Lent, “What is a Disciple?” will highlight six characteristics of followers of Jesus.  We’re already off to a great start with my introductory message from Ash Wednesday.  Lent is a time for a more focused and sober consideration of what it means to follow Jesus - even in suffering and sacrifice all the way to the cross.

Don’t miss this first Sunday of the Lenten season at Grace Church!  The message will move you.  Worship will inspire you.  Friends will greet you.  And the Holy Spirit will refresh and renew the hearts and lives of those who seek God.  Children’s Church will also be offered for little ones.  Refreshments will be served for everyone following the service.  Men will gather to pray.  And, drama practice will begin at 12:00 noon.  It’s going to be a great Sunday at Grace Church.  Invite your friends!
