The God Who is Worthy
To what or whom do you ascribe worth? Many things are considered of great worth in today’s culture: cars, houses, vacations, bank accounts, technology, hobbies, investments. Many people are also esteemed greatly in today’s culture: celebrities, movie stars, singers, musical groups, politicians, the wealthy, presidents, people of influence. But I submit to you: There is One who stands above it all. There is One who is greater. There is only One who is truly worthy of all your worship.
Of course, I am talking about our great God - the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of all! The God who created everything, including people like you and me, is alone worthy of all our praise. That is, in fact, what worshiping God is all about. Literally, worship is the action of God’s people ascribing worth to the God who is worthy. This leads us to our third growth goal at Grace Church: Higher in Hallelujahs. How can we, a people of grace, worship God better, especially on Sunday mornings?
This Sunday’s message will highlight three practical ways each of us can worship God better, along with a brief testimony of praise by one of our members. Worship will lean more contemporary this week as we lift holy hands in worship and are led by our acoustic combo. The message will move you. Worship will inspire. Friends will greet you. Visitors will be welcomed. Children can experience worship in Children’s Church. Men will gather to pray. And, refreshments will be served following.
Easter drama practice will also begin this Sunday at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary. We thank those who have already signed up to participate. More actors and especially men are still needed, however, to play the part of Jesus’ disciples. Yet we are stepping out in faith, asking and expecting God to provide. Maybe you could be an answer to that prayer! Join us for worship this Sunday with your loved ones. Let’s meet at God’s house before the big game. Please come ready to praise!
