Satisfied
If you are old enough to remember the rock group, The Rolling Stones, you probably remember Mick Jagger’s hit song, “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” It is an ode to the longing of our hearts for connection and intimacy. But it also speaks to the emptiness often found in the human soul. The fact is, before we discover Jesus, we are “hungry” people. Only Jesus fills the human heart in a way that brings lasting satisfaction. Only Jesus promises us an abundant life. If only Jagger had met Jesus!
This Sunday at Grace Church is all about finding satisfaction and fulfillment in Jesus. We’ll begin with vibrant worship, warm fellowship, and the spiritually nourishing food of Jesus Christ as we partake in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We’ll also continue our PEOPLE OF GRACE sermon series by focusing on our second growth goal: Deeper in Discipleship. If Jesus has come to grant us abundant life, how do we get it? How can we experience more of the satisfying life Jesus came to give us?
Following worship, we’ll join together for a Church-Wide Potluck in our Fellowship Hall. Please plan to bring a hot and/or cold dish to share, if you can. Coffee and cold beverage along with table service will be provided. It’ll be a great time of celebrating our diverse tastes and unity as a congregation, all the while satisfying our stomachs with great food. Visitors and guests are welcome to join us. Feel free to come early and drop your dish off in the kitchen prior to worship.
It’s going to be another Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church! Meaningful worship will inspire your soul. The message will give you plenty of food for thought. Holy Communion will nourish your heart. And the potluck will fill your stomach. A Children’s Church and nursery space is provided for little ones during worship. Please be a witness by forwarding this blog and/or sharing our Facebook post to reach out and invite a friend or family member. Let’s pack the house to the glory of God!
