Sunday in the Park
We’ve done “Sunday in the Park” outreaches now for 27 years! And every time we do, it yields tremendous opportunity for outreach and growth. I’m always amazed at the number of visitors God brings to us each time we are faithful to carry out this outreach. The venue of a park is public and non-threatening. The atmosphere is informal. The worship is inspiring. The food is plentiful and delicious. And, the fellowship and friendship is always vibrant and life-giving.
So please join us this Sunday for our second and final “Sunday in the Park” of the summer! We’ll meet at Galloway Park (kiddy-corner from the church building) at 10:00 AM for worship, followed by a picnic, followed by games for children. My message is entitled, “For Those Who Worry,” and is sure to speak to each of us. The worship will be led by our Spirit of Grace praise band and will include a taste of a few hymns as well as contemporary worship. You will be blessed!
Dress is informal. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served hot-off the grill. Beverages and table service will also be provided. Members of Grace Church are asked to bring a hot and/or cold dish to share for the potluck. Games with prizes for children will be led by volunteers following the meal. And once again, we are making it special for the kids by offering face-painting and balloon art. Activities will wrap-up around 1:00-1:30 PM.
Handicapped parking will be designated along Stratford Avenue for those who have need. In case of rain, worship, picnic, and games will all take place in the church building at 520 Maxwell Street. Please share this blog or use the flyer under the Upcoming Events page of this website to invite a friend or family member to join us. Maybe you or someone you know could use a little encouragement. Maybe someone you know worries a lot. Maybe someone you know needs a blessing. Please invite them!
