Summer Chaos

Maybe your summer too, has flown by.  Maybe you too, are feeling a bit frazzled and out-of-sorts this summer.  Most of us have had special events and gatherings to attend.  Many of us have or will yet take vacations that might involve travel.  For the church, there were two “Sunday in the Park” services, and our annual “Jesus Give-Away” mission.  I also had an unexpected trip to Michigan and then a short weekend rendezvous with high school  friends in Albert Lea.  All in all, it was good, but busy.

Summers can feel a bit chaotic.  I look forward all program year to a ‘thinner schedule’ during the summer, but it really never comes.  In fact, summers can often be busier and more out-of-sorts.  Life can feel like it’s spinning out of control at times.  Not just during summer, but from life circumstances.  Life keeps ‘coming at us’ at warp speed.  It may be a diagnosis, a health issue, a family conflict, a work problem, struggles in your marriage or key relationships, or just plain burnout and fatigue.

And into the chaos and confusion, God speaks.  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.”  Suddenly, a world is created.  From chaos comes cohesiveness.  From confusion emerges connection.  From the void, vibrancy is born.  The Good News: What God did in creating the world out of it’s formless, empty and confused state, God can do in your life too!  Summer chaos gives way to beauty!

Join your family and friends at Grace Church this Sunday as we explore this theme more deeply with a look at Genesis 1 and a message entitled, “Creating Order.”  If your life ever feels in disarray, this message is just for you.  Worship begins at 10:00 AM.  Newcomers are invited and expected.  A Children’s Church is provided.  And refreshments for all will be available following the service.  Forward this email, share a post, invite a stranger, and/or bring a friend & family member.  God awaits you!
