Running on Fumes
Some years ago I drove to Des Moines and thought I had enough gas to get me to my destination. My gas gauge needle was below the “E” mark but I really thought I could make it. I was wrong. I learned the hard way to pay attention to the gauges on my car’s dashboard. So too, it is important to pay attention to the “gauges” on “life’s dashboard.” Are your emotional and spiritual levels up, or are you running on fumes? Are you in danger of running out of emotional fuel?
Life has a way of beating us down. From the demands of family and work, to the challenges of maintaining our homes and health. From navigating relationships with friends and foes, to making ends meet and keeping up with finances. But thankfully, we have a God who is a never-ending source of abundance and blessing. We have a God who renews, restores, and revitalizes broken lives. People who are weary can take heart. There is a God who provides and energizes!
Join your friends at Grace Church this Sunday, August 24, as we consider the renewing power of God. Together we’ll be reminded of God’s ability to heal, forgive, restore, and grant strength to the tired – to those who may be “running on fumes.” Plus, we’ll identify five practical habits which everyone can practice to foster revitalization and renewal in our personal lives. If you are tired and “running on fumes” or even in danger of burning out, this message is just for you!
Worship begins at 10:00 AM with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. The worship will lift your heart. The message, “A God Who Renews,” will encourage your spirit. Warm friends will greet you. All will be welcome. A nursery space and Children’s Church are provided for little ones. Refreshments will be served following the service. And, the healing Spirit of God promises to be present when people gather in Jesus’ name. Come, bring a friend and be renewed!
