Now What?

Grace Church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead in grand fashion last weekend with two nights of moving drama presentations, a delicious Easter breakfast, an Easter Egg Hunt for children, and our joyous Easter Sunday Celebration Service!  The church was full.  Singing, praises, joy, and laughter filled the weekend.  We were even blessed by some unexpected front-page coverage of our “Easter Song” drama in the local Courier.  But now what?

I am always amazed at how people and churches respond to the resurrection of Jesus.  How do we react to the greatest event in all human history?  Some people rejoiced.  Some believed.  Some doubted.  John 20:3 says many of the early disciples returned to fishing – the job they held before they met Jesus.  And many churches simply return to “business as usual.”  But shouldn’t there be something more?  Does not the resurrection of Jesus change things, change us?

Please join your friends at Grace Church this second Sunday of Easter as the celebration of the risen Lord continues!  We’ll consider what comes after the resurrection.  We’ll consider what Jesus asks us to do now.  And, we’ll worship with great joy!  Our service begins at 10:00 AM with a mix of music and singing.  A Nursery and Children’s Church will be provided.  Men will gather for prayer following the service.  And refreshments will be served for all in the Fellowship Hall.

This Sunday also marks the beginning of the “Discovery Class,” for those who want to learn more about Grace Church - who we are, what we believe - and the possibility of membership moving forward.  There’s no obligation to become a member by attending the class.  It’s simply a ‘safe place’ to ask questions and learn more.  We’ll meet from 11:15 to 11:55 AM in the adult Sunday school room of our education wing.  Join us this Sunday.  All are welcome.  Bring a friend!
