Eyes to See
How’s your vision? Is it time for an appointment with the eye doctor? Do you need readers? Do you need to update your prescription? Or, maybe you already have 20/20 vision. Having clear vision is important to functioning well in this world. Seeing what’s around you is incredibly helpful. But sometimes even those who are blind physically can “see” things better than those of us with good eyesight. Vision comes in two forms – physical and spiritual. Do you see God at work in our world?
People with spiritual vision see God at work. They understand that there is no such thing as luck or coincidence. God is actively working in this world, in our nation, in our churches, and in our lives. The question is: Do we see it? Do you see God at work in and around you? It’s one of the prerequisites for being a witness for Jesus. Sunday’s message focuses on a blind man who had his eyes opened by Jesus, and became a powerful witness to God’s amazing grace. “I was blind, but now I see!”
Join your friends at Grace Church this Sunday as we continue our Lenten series: “What is a Disciple?” So far, we’ve identified that a disciple of Jesus is one who walks with God, waits on the Holy Spirit, and withholds nothing from God. This week, we’ll consider that a disciple is someone who witnesses to the world. We’ll shred old stereotypes of witnessing and embrace a biblical model which actually works. Discover three things witnesses do patterned after the healed blind man of John 9.
Worship begins at 10:00 AM. We’ll enjoy a blended style of worship singing hymns from our heritage accompanied by organ and piano, along with a few great contemporary songs led by our band. Children’s Church will be offered for little ones. Refreshments will be provided for all in our Fellowship Hall following worship. Let’s prepare our hearts and raise the roof with praises as continue to grow “higher in hallelujahs” for Jesus! Invite your friends and don’t miss this Spirit-filled Sunday!
