Celebrating 75 Years!
If only our founding pastor, the Rev. William Everts, could see Grace Church today! Chances are his heart would well-up with praise and thanksgiving for the many ways God has blessed us over the years. It was back in 1943 that Rev. Everts came to the Waterloo area with a dream to plant new churches. And some years later, on May 28, 1950, Grace Reformed Church was officially organized as a congregation of the historic Reformed Church in America. Praise God!
You and your loved ones are cordially invited to join the congregation of Grace Church this Sunday, June 1, as we celebrate 75 years of God’s faithfulness to our small church with a big ministry. Together, we’ll consider God’s faithfulness throughout the years and into the present, lifting up the name of Jesus Christ. If you’ve ever questioned whether God is faithful or not, join us Sunday to remove all doubt. God’s faithfulness (not ours) will be “front and center” in all we do!
Worship begins at 10:00 AM with a musically blended service featuring hymns from our heritage and contemporary songs of today. I will bring an inspiring message entitled, “Celebrating God’s Grace!” Please be invited to wear your Grace Church T-shirt if you like. You can also purchase one in the foyer this Sunday. A nursery space, Busy Bags, and a Children’s Church will be provided for children. We also have a few surprises and gifts that will be revealed during the service.
Following worship, we’ll enjoy a potluck for all in our Fellowship Hall. If you can, please bring a hot and/or cold dish to share. Beverages and table service will be provided. We’ll also enjoy a special anniversary cake for dessert. A picture bulletin board has been created for you to ‘check out.’ If you haven’t already, please see Amanda Sadler to add your picture to the board. It’s a beautiful collage of all the many diverse and talented people comprising our wonderful church family.
What a glorious Sunday it’s going to be for Grace Church as we celebrate 75 years of God’s faithfulness! If you have been touched by Grace’s ministry in any way over those years, we invite you to join us. In fact, it’s a great Sunday to reach out to family and friends and bring them along. May God be glorified as young and old join together this Sunday to reminisce and celebrate what God has done, is doing, and yet will do through the ministry of Grace Church. All are welcome!
