A Fresh Start

I love the beginning of a New Year!  There’s a freshness to January that supersedes any other month.  It’s a great opportunity for a brand new start.  The New Year holds the promise of fresh beginnings.  This applies both to our lives, and also to our life together as a church.  God says in Isaiah 43:18-19: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”   What good news!  God is working a new thing in our lives and church!

What “new thing” are you praying for in your life?  Are there addictions that need to be broken?  Are there bad habits that need to be placed with good ones?  Are you longing for newness in your marriage, relationships, at work, or in your family?  What “new thing” or working of God would Grace Church love to see this year?  Maybe it’s growth, revival, more youth, more impact, financial provision, new visions and ministry opportunities?  2026 is a time to dream big, pray hard, and have faith!

This Sunday’s service will highlight this theme with my first message of the new year entitled, “Reflect and Reset.”  Too often we live our lives on auto-pilot or cruise control.  We go through the motions and do the same thing year after year.  May 2026 be different for all of us!  My message will invite you to reflect and reset your life in regard to four key areas of life.  You will be challenged.  You will be encouraged.  You will be built-up in your faith.  Plan to join us for my first Sunday back in 2026!

Worship begins at 10:00 AM with a blended service of both traditional and contemporary music.  We will ordain and install Corey Kerr to the office of deacon and we will install Elroy Rowenhorst to the office of elder.  A Children’s Church will be provided for little ones, along with a Nursery space.  The Holy Spirit will be moving in our midst.  Refreshments will be served following worship.  This Sunday is going to be a Spirit-filled Sunday at Grace Church.  Please join us with your family and friends!
