The Rest of the Story

Do you remember Paul Harvey?  He was a popular American radio broadcaster known especially for his masterful story-telling and distinctive staccato delivery and signature programs.  Harvey reached up to 24 million weekly listeners which would be “viral” by today’s standards.  If you remember Harvey, you remember how he’d often end his broadcasts by sharing interesting, behind-the-scenes facts about a story or person.  He would then close with, “And now you know, the rest of the story.”

Last Sunday we focused on the story of your individual salvation in Jesus Christ as revealed in Ephesians 2:1-10.  We discovered how believers are saved by grace through faith, seated with Christ in the heavenly realms, and sealed for good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.  But that’s not the end of the story.  God’s big plan to redeem humankind goes way beyond our individual salvation.  Your salvation has implications and consequences for how you get along with others.

This Sunday’s message entitled, “Salvation Sequel,” reveals the rest of the story.  Have you ever felt alone or lonely?  Do you sometimes find yourself estranged from others?  Has there been an incident in your life when someone hurt you deeply, and now you struggle to forgive that person?  Perhaps you hold grudges or bitterness in your heart.  Or, maybe there’s just someone you struggle to get along with.  They ‘push all your buttons’ and make you angry.  If so, this Sunday’s message is for YOU!

Worship for all begins at 10:00 AM.  I believe the message will speak powerfully to all of us.  Worship will lift your soul and refresh your heart.  Warm friends will greet you.  And, the healing presence of the Holy Spirit will be moving in our midst.  A nursery space and children’s church are available for little ones.  Men will gather for prayer following the service.  And, the Discovery Class for inquirers will meet at 11:15 AM.  So forward this email, reach out, invite someone, and let’s worship God!
