Spiritual Realities
Most of the time, we live our lives only by what we can see and touch. It’s normal. We see and interact with the physical world – material stuff. But the Bible teaches there is another dimension. There is a spiritual dimension to life that is often not seen. Ephesians 6:12 says: “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” There is a spiritual reality.
This weekend’s drama “Cosmic Christmas” is all about spiritual realities. It’s all about the cosmic struggle between good and evil, between God and Satan, between angels and demons that may have been taking place in the heavenly realms surrounding the birth of Jesus. It is an eye-opening look and reminder of the spiritual battles we face every day. Thankfully, God’s desire to send Jesus into the world was not thwarted by the Enemy. Jesus our Savior was born! God defeats evil!
Truth is, we are engaged in spiritual warfare every day. Satan wants nothing more than to distract you, discourage you, depress you, and destroy you. And one of the things the Enemy attacks is your faith. We began our “Four Pillars of Faith” Advent series last Sunday by examining the importance of HOPE. This Sunday, we’ll focus on PEACE. It’s another pillar of our faith. And, it’s another thing Satan tries to steal from us. Just look at our world today – wars, conflicts, division, personal anxiety.
The Good News is: The One who lives in you is greater than the adversary! We have the power in Jesus Christ to be victorious! Join us this weekend as we celebrate this first with our drama presented both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
