Garden Produce
Are you planning to put in a garden this Spring? Do you like to plant things and watch them grow? As a young boy growing up on a farm with four siblings, the Van Netten family always had a rather large garden. Mom and dad planted sweetcorn, green beans, yellow beans, radishes, carrots, strawberries, and lettuce most every year. And it was the job of me and my siblings to weed the garden and pick the beans and berries. It wasn’t a job I enjoyed, but I did enjoy eating the produce!
God has a garden. One garden is your heart and life. Paul says in Galatians 5:22-23: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” These are the kinds of things a life in the Spirit produces in us. But God has another garden too. This garden is the garden of the local church. This garden is also designed to produce “fruit.” Sunday’s message, “Gospel Produce,” focuses on three fruits the gospel produces in our church.
If you’ve ever felt down and discouraged about the church, this message is for you. If you’ve ever been caught up in rules, regulations, or the “rat race” of religion, this message is for you. If you’ve ever felt spiritually stuck or stifled as a person and unproductive as a Christian, this message is for you. Please join us this Sunday, May 10, and allow the Spirit of God to speak to you, heal you, and renew your heart and soul. God is waiting and wanting to revitalize your life. Will you let him?
Worship begins at 10:00 AM with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. I promise the worship will lift your heart and the gospel message will revive your soul. You and your loved ones are welcomed. Guests and visitors will be received. Children’s Church is provided for little ones. Mothers will be honored for Mother’s Day. Refreshments will be served following worship. The Discovery Class will gather. And the Spirit of God will be moving in our midst! Will you be?
