All in the Family
Have you ever felt isolated and alone? Maybe your friends left you out of their weekend plans. Perhaps your siblings ignore you. It could be that your parents are deceased and you feel like an orphan. Or, the kids never call. The truth is: Everyone feels isolated and lonely at times. Even Jesus himself surely felt alone when his disciples abandoned him prior to his crucifixion. But here’s the good news: According to Psalm 68:6: “God sets the lonely in families.” You belong to God’s family!
This weekend is all about ‘family’ at Grace Church. It begins with our Kids’ Day this Saturday, June 20. Children from 3 years-old through those in fifth grade are all invited to join the “Journey to Jesus” as we visit five special places & stories of the Bible all the way to eternal life in Jesus. Creative biblical lessons, crafts, a delicious lunch, and games will highlight the day. The day begins at 10:00a and runs to 2:00p. See the attached flyer for more information. Please reach out and invite children!
The family theme continues Sunday morning as we recognize and honor all fathers, including God our Heavenly Father. All dads are invited to join us with your family as we consider an interesting message from Galatians 4:21-31 which I have ironically entitled, “Who’s Your Mother?” You probably know who your father is, but do you know who your mother is? Check out this interesting and inspiring message, offering encouragement and challenge for those growing in the grace of God.
Worship begins at 10:00 AM with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. A special solo for Father’s Day will be offered by one of our members. We’ll receive four new members into the family and fellowship of Grace Church by reaffirmation of their faith in Jesus Christ. Children’s Church will be offered for children. Refreshments will be served following worship. And, all newcomers and guests will be warmly welcome. Please join us for this special Sunday with your loved ones!
